Chapter 45: The Secrets of the Moon

After pondering for a while, I spoke up: "We were just talking about Mars and the Moon, and it suddenly struck me that the Moon itself is an mysterious planet. How exactly did the Moon form? I've read various theories online—some say it formed naturally, others claim it was constructed by aliens, and some even suggest it's a massive spaceship. Could you shed some light on this?

Second question: Why is the Moon drifting farther and farther away from the Earth? Can humanity use technology to keep it in place?

Third question: What exactly happened during the U.S. Moon landings? There are rumors online about structures or buildings on the Moon, even encounters with aliens. Some also claim that Soviet probes captured images of extraterrestrial beings on the Moon. Are these true?"

Buweiro smiled and continued narrating the distant history:  

"In the early days, Earth had two natural satellites, both very small. One was about one-fifth the size of the Earth, and the other slightly larger than one-eighth. The smaller one was the Moon in its early form, and there were also countless meteoroids of varying sizes around the Earth.

When our civilization, the Sanziyao, developed, we built bases on both of these satellites. This lasted for a long time. However, when we eventually went to war with other extraterrestrial species, the smaller satellite was destroyed, and the larger one—the Moon—suffered severe damage, teetering on the brink of disintegration.

Since these two satellites had naturally formed alongside the Earth, the destruction of the smaller satellite caused chaos in the Earth's gravitational forces and tides, unleashing apocalyptic disasters on the Earth's species. After we repelled our enemies and began rebuilding, we found that the smaller satellite could not be restored, and the larger one was also in a precarious state, at risk of breaking apart at any moment.

After much deliberation, we decided to recreate a new satellite, much larger than the previous ones, based on the gravitational dynamics between the Earth and its earlier satellites. Advanced technology was embedded within this new satellite, allowing it to respond to commands if future crises arose. Over countless eons, we poured immense effort and energy into completing what you now see as the Moon.

Later, whenever the Earth faced disasters, the new Moon played a significant role in protecting it. The Moon's interior is filled with programmed devices, much of it hollow yet incredibly sturdy. In a way, calling it a satellite spaceship wouldn't be wrong. This also explains why the first time humans landed on the Moon, they heard echoes when stepping on its surface. Some scientists' speculations were indeed correct.

Think about it carefully: humans have explored many celestial bodies, yet have never encountered a situation like the Moon's. Whether it's the proportionate size or the fact that the far side of the Moon remains hidden, all of this suggests that the Moon has been modified. The Earth is eight times the size of the Moon, and their rotational and orbital periods are identical. Such a phenomenon is virtually impossible in the universe unless artificially created.

As for why the Moon drifts nearly three centimeters farther from Earth each year, the reason is simple. Since its modification, the Moon has shielded the Earth from countless calamities. It has absorbed the impact of numerous meteor strikes throughout history and even endured the brunt of interstellar wars. Over the years, the machinery within the Moon has gradually suffered wear and malfunction. This isn't due to the Earth's tidal forces but rather because of internal mechanical failures that have gone beyond control.

"Ah, so even advanced civilizations like yours have a technology expiration date? I thought it would last forever! Since it's a problem with the Moon's internal components, why don't you just repair it? Its importance must be significant to both you and us!"I was surprised, speaking as if the solution was obvious.

"Repair it? Do you think it's as simple as fixing a car? The Moon is a fusion of a celestial body and a spaceship. Restoring it to its original state isn't something that can be accomplished overnight. Besides, the Moon has endured countless meteor impacts over the years, with each one causing wear and tear to its internal mechanisms.

In fact, ever since the Moon was constructed, its interior has been under human supervision and repaired by intelligent machines, and it is under constant maintenance. Otherwise, given the sheer number of craters on its surface and the countless meteor strikes over millennia, the Moon would have already drifted off course and away from the Earth, never making it to the present day."

Seeing my confusion and skepticism, Buweiro continued to explain: "I'll tell you about two events recorded in your country's ancient history.  

The first event happened during the Tang Dynasty. One day, two young men went hiking in the mountains and got lost. When they were at a loss for what to do, a man dressed in white appeared and guided them out of the mountains. But that's not the important part. The key is what the man in white told them: he said the Moon was made of seven precious materials and its surface was pockmarked like a ball, implying that the Moon's surface had many craters. He also mentioned that the Moon glows at night by reflecting sunlight and that there were 82,000 repair workers maintaining the Moon.  (Figure 45.1)

At the time, the cultural understanding of ancient people couldn't grasp this information, so they simply recorded it after returning. In truth, that man in white was a member of the Atlantis race, taking on a human form. His role was akin to your 'supervisor', overseeing the maintenance of the Moon's interior. Occasionally, he would come to the Earth to report to the Alliance, and it just so happened that he encountered the two lost humans and helped them on his way.  

This story is true. Without telescopes in ancient times, even the most imaginative minds couldn't have known about the Moon's craters, basins, and plains.  

As for the 'seven precious materials' mentioned by the man in white, your modern science has already confirmed it. In the last century, Armstrong collected samples during the moon landing and brought them back to Earth. Through research and analysis of the samples by scientists, it was found that 99% of the Moon's rocks are composed of oxygen (O), silicon (Si), aluminum (Al), iron (Fe), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and titanium (Ti)—exactly seven elements.  

As for the 82,000 repair workers, they referred to the intelligent robots constantly monitoring and repairing the Moon's interior. The man in white knew that ancient people wouldn't understand the concept of robots, so he casually referred to them as repair workers. Even if astronauts went to the Moon today, they wouldn't find these robots." 

"There are so many legends about the Moon in ancient China. I didn't expect some of them to involve aliens, even if the ancients didn't understand it. Those people were so lucky to encounter a kind alien. What's the second story?" I was intrigued by the real-life connection between the Moon and extraterrestrials in ancient times.  

"The second event is recorded in your official history books. It happened during the Jin Dynasty, in the reign of Emperor Taizong in the year 1133. On that night, the Moon suddenly deviated from its usual west-to-east trajectory and shifted southward. After a while, it returned to its normal orbit on its own.  

This event is also true, and it wasn't just some strange celestial phenomenon. As I mentioned earlier, your ancestors were very intelligent and observant, unlike people today. Back then, the night sky was unpolluted, and everything could be seen clearly."  

I nodded unconsciously at Buweiro's point of view, and he continued to explain: "What actually happened was that the Alliance conducted a major internal repair on the Moon. After completing the upgrades, the gravity between the moon and the earth was calculated, and the Universal Energy Field was activated to protect the earth during the test flight, which was seen by the ancient people of the Jin Dynasty.

In fact, the test flights of the Moon have been conducted since ancient times. However, before each test, the Universal Energy Field would usually cover the sky with clouds to hide the Moon from human view. That time, a mishap occurred, allowing the Jin Dynasty observers to witness it."

I skeptically pulled out my phone and searched for the two strange stories about the Moon that Buweiro mentioned. To my surprise, there really were records of them.

"If the Alliance is protecting the Solar system and has intelligent machines constantly maintaining the Moon, when will you be able to fully repair its internal components so it stops drifting away from the Earth?" After regaining my composure, I asked this very practical question.

"Hm, fully repairing the Moon's components and restoring its normal functions is a long-term project that requires consistent effort. For now, under the Alliance's supervision, there won't be any major issues with the Moon. However, if we were to initiate a full-scale repair of the Moon, it would affect the Earth's ecosystem. The Alliance's plan is to wait until humanity advances to Primary civilization. Then, we'll work together to formulate a plan and jointly restore the Moon to its original state. It's a task that requires collective effort from all of humanity." Buweiro explained.

His answer made me a little nervous: "What happens if we don't achieve that?"

"If you fail to do so, you will only bring about your own destruction. It's not the Alliance that's taking action against you, but because of two major problems of your own.  

First, Earth's current ecological environment has been severely damaged by humanity, and it's already starting to backfire. The recent pandemic is the best example of this. If humans fail to reach Primary civilization in the next few centuries, using technology to protect and restore the ecological environment, the consequences will be dire.  

Second, modern warfare. Some countries are locked in fierce conflicts, and today's technological weapons are far more powerful than those of World War II. Some nations even possess weapons that ordinary people can't imagine. If these are ever deployed, the consequences would be catastrophic, possibly leading to self-destruction in a short time.  

Either scenario, whether ecological collapse or unchecked warfare, would lead to the destruction of your civilization, and the society would regress to a primitive state, similar to the fate of Atlantis and Lemurian Continent. Only a small number of elites would survive.  

The Alliance's principle is to intervene only in two cases: either your civilization advances to the next level, or you self-destruct. Only then will the Alliance step in to restore the Earth's ecosystem and repair the Moon. For now, since humanity is still in the development stage, the ancient galactic laws dictate that developing civilizations cannot be interfered with."

"Alright, I'll deliver your message," I said. "But as for whether people will believe it or not, I can't guarantee."

Unconsciously, I asked Buweiro many random questions. Since my memory is not very good, I forgot a lot of them. We talked until noon. After Buweiro left, I closed my eyes and wanted to relax myself.
