Chapter 35: A Threat or Secret Protection?

When I regained consciousness, I jolted awake and sat up straight. Once my mind fully cleared, I realized I was sitting on the bed completely intact, feeling fresh and clean with no traces of sweat or discomfort.

Reflecting carefully on the thrilling and nerve-wracking experience just moments ago, I came to understand that it was all real. This game was incredibly stimulating—far surpassing the excitement of humanity's current mobile games by a thousandfold. Imagine if this kind of mental experience were introduced to the human world: internet cafes and mobile games would go obsolete, people would overcome gaming addiction, and perhaps even elevate their spiritual realm.

Glancing at my phone, I noticed it was a little past 7:30 in the morning. It seemed my biological clock was quite regular—a habit honed through years of monotonous but consistent routines.

"Gulp, gulp."

Although I wasn't even slightly thirsty, I poured myself a glass of cool water and drank it in one go. Afterward, I felt exceptionally comfortable, as if my mind had been elevated. It seemed I had gained new insights—last night's thrilling experience had indeed left a profound impact on me.

As I sat in quiet contemplation for a moment, I began thinking about today's topic and decided to contact Buweiro.

"Ah, Brother Ji Wufan, you're awake! You're looking great today. I hope our hospitality has been to your satisfaction. So, what shall we talk about today?" Buweiro entered through the door just in a second, smiling warmly as he greeted my refreshed appearance.

"Your hospitality has been excellent, especially your advanced mental experience technology!" I replied with heartfelt gratitude before steering the conversation toward the topic I had in mind. "Let's talk about the mythological stories from my country today. I've always been interested in those.

Previously, you mentioned various alien civilizations, and I noticed that the Sirius civilization had a significant impact on the ancient ancestors of China. Were they the first alien species to arrive in ancient China?"

"Because Sirius is relatively close to our Solar system, the various planets in Solar system have attracted the Sirius civilization's interest. Later, the Sirius homeland was destroyed, and some of the races came to our Solar system to settle down for a long time, so their influence on humans is indeed great.

However, in your ancient China, it wasn't just the Sirius civilization that influenced you. There were many others as well, but most of these influences were lost in the vast river of history, passed down only through the oral traditions of your ancestors," Buweiro explained.

"I'll tell you a mythological story that your people still have some impression of. It has had a significant influence on your nation as well. Since you enjoy history, you must be familiar with the ancient myth of 'Di Jun' 帝俊, right?" Buweiro suddenly posed this question to me.

"Yes, yes," I nodded, indicating my familiarity.

Di Jun is known as the ancient Heavenly Emperor and is mentioned multiple times in "The Classic of Mountains and Seas". Moreover, he frequently appears in Chinese fantasy and cultivation novels, often with two roles: one as the ancient Heavenly Emperor and the other as the ancient Demon Emperor. However, his identity is shrouded in mystery, and to this day, no one can definitively say who or what he truly was. The only certainty is that Di Jun was an exalted figure and a major player in ancient times. I hadn't expected Buweiro to bring him up.

"In ancient times, there were two alien civilizations that were stationed the longest in the region of ancient China: one was the Sirius civilization, and the other was the Draco civilization.

The intelligent race on the land of Sirius is in the form of snakemen 蛇人, while in the sea is in the form of mermaids 人鱼.

The intelligent terrestrial species of the Sirius civilization had a serpentine humanoid appearance, while their marine species resembled merfolk. Their civilizational philosophy was, 'I will not offend others if they do not offend me, but I will offend them if they offend me.' They were a race that disliked war but would not compromise when necessary.

The Draco civilization, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. This constellation had many planets with advanced technological civilizations and a philosophy rooted in plunder and conquest, which shaped their belligerent nature. The intelligent species from Draco that came to Earth often had humanoid bodies with animal heads, though there were other forms as well, and their appearance wasn't drastically different from humans. Even now, Draco descendants occasionally visit Earth to observe human society. As for the so-called 'Draco aliens' that spread online among humans, they're nothing but fabricated myths," Buweiro explained as I nodded along.

He continued, "The myth of Di Jun originates from a branch species of the Draco civilization. This branch came to the ancient Chinese region and took a keen interest in capturing wild animals for genetic research, which eventually gave rise to the early concept of the 'Demon Emperor' in mythology.

Additionally, the civilization of Di Jun established bases on both the Moon and the Sun. This also forms the mythological prototypes for Di Jun's two wives: Xi He 羲和, the Sun God, and Chang Xi 常羲, the Moon God."

"The Di Jun civilization would occasionally discuss technology with the Sirius civilization, and their relationship was relatively good. At that time, the spaceships of both civilizations would sometimes take your ancient human ancestors to the Moon and Sun bases for experiments. Some of these early humans were fortunate enough to return, and, unable to comprehend the technology they witnessed, they told their tribe people fantastical stories. They claimed the Sun God had 10 sons, and the Moon God had 12 daughters—when in reality, these were just the various spaceships of the Di Jun civilization."

"I see! So, what happened later? Did the Di Jun civilization leave the Earth?" I eagerly asked.

"Back then, the Di Jun civilization maintained a decent relationship only with the Sirius civilization, but they had extremely poor relations with other alien species in Asia. Eventually, they were driven out of the Asian region. One day, all the alien races in Asia, except the Sirius civilization, united to completely uproot the Di Jun civilization and destroy it at an extremely fast speed.

Even though the Sirius civilization modified nine spaceships near the Sun into battleships and rushed to the Earth to assist the Di Jun civilization, it was useless. These ships were destroyed by nuclear laser cannons, marking the origin of the ancient Chinese legend of 'Hou Yi shooting down the Suns' 后羿射日. Hou Yi's prototype was actually the Di Jun civilization, but as time passed, the story became distorted.

Moreover, all alien races together destroyed the Di Jun civilization's ships on the Moon—the ones I just mentioned, known in myth as the 12 daughters." Buweiro said, letting out a deep sigh.

While I struggled to process this information, he continued, "In the past, several alien races often launched small melees, and this kind of war would happen on Earth every few years. Because they were bound by the laws of the Interstellar Alliance, they only had to not use destructive and powerful technological weapons, and the Alliance would only monitor and remain neutral.

Later, their conflicts spilled over to the Moon and outer space. The Alliance still maintained its stance of non-intervention, reasoning that fewer participants after wars would ultimately benefit the galaxy.

However, an unfortunate incident occurred. A female of my race, a young Sanziyao, had a close relationship with one of the alien species within the Di Jun civilization. Seeing her friend in mortal danger, she ignored the alliance treaty and drove the spacecraft to the Moon to save her friend. In the end, her friend was not saved, but she was affected and fell on the Moon.

Afterwards, the alien races that participated in the war cleaned up and divided up the remains of the Di Jun civilization. Because the Alliance was the host of the Solar system, they did not destroy the body of the Sanziyao girl from our race, but they also did not agree to the Alliance going to the Moon to retrieve the girl's body.

Faced with pressure and the fact that the girl disobeyed orders—essentially betraying the Alliance—the Alliance had no choice but to compromise, leaving her body to decay naturally on the Moon.

It wasn't until modern times, with advancements in human technology, that the United States and Russia cooperated in space exploration during the last century and landed on the Moon. There, they discovered the wreckage of the Alliance spaceship and the body of the Sanziyao girl. They secretly brought her remains back to Earth for research. Although rumors of this event leaked, the information was heavily suppressed by human leadership, and over time, it was rebranded as a hoax.

In fact, there's substantial evidence of alien relics discovered by human authorities, but all of it has been concealed. This is one reason why we prefer not to contact humans right now. If even your leaders aren't willing to face the truth, why should we force them?"

"Wait, the abandoned spaceship on the Moon and the three-eyed woman's body—I've come across short videos about this on my phone! (see Figure 35.1) They all claimed it was a hoax, so I didn't think much of it. I never imagined it was real and involved your Sanziyao race, Earth's original inhabitants," I exclaimed in shock after hearing Buweiro's story. Eager to learn more, I asked, "What happened next? With the Alliance spaceship on the Moon, the U.S. and Russia shouldn't have had the ability to take it back at the time, but they should've been able to retrieve the girl's body, right?"

"Later, the Alliance reclaimed the girl's body and also recovered the abandoned spaceship from the Moon," Buweiro explained, raising my eyebrows in surprise as he continued, "This incident was part of ancient grudges. By the time it was resolved, some of the alien species involved in the conflict had already left the Solar system. The Alliance is not a mortal enemy of them. In addition, the technology and remains of the Primitive Civilization cannot be desecrated by lower civilizations.

Considering all these factors, the Alliance decided to take back the body of our companion. None of the remaining alien species opposed the decision. Afterwards, our Sanziyao race came forward and secretly found the leaders of the two countries at that time. After explaining our purpose directly, we took the girl's body away."

"Wait a second," I interjected, astonished. "Those two superpowers just handed her over so easily? Didn't they demand something in return, like advanced technology?" I couldn't help but question. Given the character and practices of these nations at the time, it didn't seem likely they'd cooperate so readily.

Buweiro smiled faintly. "It wasn't entirely without conditions, but the price they asked for was much smaller than you'd expect. The matter was resolved quickly because of the gravity of the situation and certain truths they'd already come to understand. But that's a story for another time."

"They didn't dare ask for anything in return. If they had gotten something, humanity would have already advanced beyond a Primitive Civilization," Buweiro said, causing my face to twitch. It sounded illogical to me, but he quickly caught on to my thoughts and smiled.

"They did hint at wanting something, of course, but we refused outright. Now, according to your logic, wouldn't those two nations have thrown a fit if we didn't give them anything? Hmmph, do you think they even had the qualifications to demand anything?

Let me tell you this: not back then, and not even now. With your current technological level, even your first steps into anti-gravity research, none of it holds any value to a higher-level civilization. Besides, for millions of years, the Alliance has been secretly protecting humanity, cleaning up hidden threats for you. Without this protection, humanity would have faced extinction many times over.

The fact that the Alliance hasn't demanded anything from you in return is already generous. When we approached those two nations at that time, one look was all it took to silence their leaders immediately."

He was right—what qualifications did humanity have to argue with them? Still, I couldn't quite wrap my head around Buweiro's mention of "hidden threats". If all alien species on Earth were under the Alliance's surveillance, what kind of hidden threats could there be?

Noticing my confusion, Buweiro explained: "Your astronomers and other stargazers have observed how celestial bodies in the universe are constantly bombarded by meteoroids, haven't they? The Earth is no exception. Just look at the countless craters on the Moon for proof.

Haven't you ever wondered why, despite these countless external threats, the Earth has remained unharmed for so long? Perhaps you assumed it's due to the atmosphere protecting humanity. But logically, that alone wouldn't explain why the Earth has remained untouched by major cosmic disasters.

Humans who are concerned about this have begun to doubt it. Especially in recent years, with the improvement of your technology, official monitoring or satellites in many countries have found that once a meteorite that poses a huge threat to the Earth falls, its speed and impact force cannot be resolved with your current technology. However, before the meteorite lands on the ground or in the ocean, this threat will be resolved by an invisible force.

Let me tell you about a recent incident. In 2013, a giant meteorite fell from the sky in Russia and was destroyed by a mysterious force. We did it. (see Figure 35.2) Some people have guessed that there is a mysterious force secretly protecting humans and the earth. Do you understand now?"

"Is that so!" I nodded, feeling deeply grateful. Then I remembered a mysterious incident in Russia that remains unexplained: "What about the 'Tunguska event' in Russia? Over a hundred years have passed, and there are still various theories but no definitive answer. You all must know what really happened back then, right?"

"Of course we know. That incident was orchestrated by the Alliance," Buweiro said, leaving me stunned. He continued: "Although the Alliance has sealed off the Solar system, it's not completely isolated. If an outsider gets close enough, they can still detect it.

Back then, an extraterrestrial species from outside the Solar system discovered the Earth. For safety reasons, they arranged a probe to explore the Earth. When this alien probe entered the Solar system, it acted recklessly, without asking for permission from the Alliance or giving any face at all. Then we had no choice but to fight back.

The Alliance destroyed the probe, which fell from space and exploded in mid-air over the uninhabited region of Tunguska, Siberia, under the Alliance's control. While it devastated a large area of land and vegetation, there were no human casualties. Afterward, the Alliance drove the intruders out and erased the traces of the Tunguska explosion in Siberia.

This is why your human expeditions later found no meteorite fragments at the site, which caused endless confusion. In recent years, with your advancing technology, some clues have actually been uncovered, but nothing can be openly admitted. To the public, the incident is still explained as a meteorite impact." (Figure 35.3)

After hearing Buweiro's explanation, I couldn't help but marvel: "So it really was related to aliens! This event occurred at the beginning of the last century, just when technological civilizations were emerging. The Tunguska explosion had a power more than a thousand times that of the Hiroshima atomic bomb. At that time, there was no technology capable of such destruction—atomic bombs weren't invented until decades later.

Scientists speculated that only a massive meteorite could have caused it, but later Russian expeditions found no meteorite debris—not even fragments. How could a meteorite impact leave nothing behind, completely vaporized? The only logical explanation is an extraterrestrial connection."
