Chapter 12: The Origin of the Universe

When I woke up, I looked around to confirm that yesterday's experience wasn't just a dream. I looked down at my clothes, which were spotlessly clean, and realized I didn't smell of anything, as if I was living in a sterile environment. I didn't feel a bit of hunger either. I felt light-hearted and refreshed, and I began to accept this experience, even feeling a sense of curiosity and enjoyment for being here. Collecting my thoughts, I mentally signaled to Xiaomeng to summon Buweiro.
Within five seconds, Buweiro was standing right in front of me. How fast! If the Alliance's technology could be taught to humans, it would drastically reduce time costs.
"Brother Ji Wufan, you're awake! It seems you've rested well. I'm glad you're satisfied with our hospitality," Buweiro said, clearly pleased to see my improved mood and spirit compared to yesterday.
"Thank you for your concern. I'm sure I'll adapt even better and treat this as one of the most interesting, joyful, and meaningful experiences of my life." I replied to Buweiro's kind words. Our relationship already seemed warmer and more familiar than the day before.
"Brother Ji Wufan, have a seat. If there's anything you'd like to know or experience, just ask. Did you think of anything last night?" Buweiro asked, sensing my relaxed mood.
I nodded and sat down with him. Although I didn't feel thirsty, I usually start my day with a glass of water, so I didn't hold back.
"Could I have a glass of water first? Though I drank your nutrient solution and I don't feel hungry or thirsty, I'm used to eating, drinking, and sleeping. I don't feel like eating right now, but the lack of activity in my mouth feels strange. I'd like a sip of water to remind myself that I'm still a normal person."
"Hahaha." Buweiro was amused by my request. " Of course, Brother Ji Wufan, you can ask Xiaomeng for simple things like this anytime. There's no need to wait for my permission."
As soon as he finished speaking, a glass appeared on the table in front of me, filling instantly with clear water.
"Thank you." I picked up the glass and drank deeply. The water tasted sweet and refreshing. It felt wonderful, as I hadn't yet adapted to the alien custom of going for long periods without food or drink.
"Buweiro, I don't have high demands when it comes to material things. As long as I have enough to eat and drink, I'm satisfied. Unlike some people who constantly pursue high quality of life, I don't want to wear myself out. People who think highly of themselves might say I lack ambition, but I'm at peace with myself. I just want to live my own life and not harm others. I also feel that I can be of some use by protecting people's safety, which I see as both my pride and my honor."
Buweiro seemed to appreciate my words, so I continued, "Last night, I thought a lot about this. I even did some research on extraterrestrial civilizations with my phone, trying to imagine a bit about them. I'd love to just sit here and chat, ask questions, and have you satisfy my curiosity.
"We humans are fascinated by our origins, the mysteries of the universe, ancient stories, strange events throughout history, and, of course, alien's advanced technology. It would be amazing if you could share some of these things with me—not only would it satisfy my curiosity, but it would also be great material for my readers if I publish it. It could help us solve many mysteries that have puzzled humanity for ages and maybe even earn me a bit of trust from my fellow humans. Beyond that, I have no other requests."
"I respect your choices, Brother Ji Wufan. You are truly a remarkable person—few humans can match your spirit."
Buweiro's compliment gave me a warm feeling of satisfaction. Out in the world, I might be seen as an ordinary person, even looked down upon by some people. Though my job is honorable, it doesn't earn much money. But that doesn't matter to me.
Shaking off these negative thoughts, I asked Buweiro: "First question, I'm very curious about how the universe was actually formed. Human science is quite advanced, yet we still haven't reached a definitive conclusion about the origin of the universe. Many support the Big Bang theory, but there are dissenting views as well, and some believe it formed naturally. I've read various explanations before, and each seems reasonable in its own way.
Since I have the chance to meet you, and the Alliance's technology reached a Level-2 civilization long ago, I'm assuming your understanding of the universe's formation must be unified by now. Could you explain it in detail? This is also a topic that greatly interests humanity."
"Of course," Buweiro replied. "There are many issues that your species currently can't explain. Whether or not you ask, I'll be sharing some of these with you to help humans recognize their own nature and quickly advance in thought and technology. If you can achieve these two points, you'll have the qualifications to meet us formally. After all, as Earth's native inhabitants, you've come a long way. You're only a step away from breaking through as a primary civilization, already surpassing the limits of isolated cultures.
It would truly be a pity if humanity were to disappear without reaching its potential. While some extraterrestrial civilizations on Earth are indifferent to your survival, civilizations like the Trizenyo, Arianese, Siazhedowa, and Atlantis hope for humanity's continuity. We look forward to you joining the Interstellar Alliance."
Buweiro nodded in agreement, then began to explain.
"The universe didn't exactly have a formation or 'origin' because it has existed eternally. As for when it actually began, even the Alliance's technology cannot trace it back to the very start, as it is simply too ancient to investigate. Perhaps the highly advanced civilization at the center of the Milky Way, the 'Star Federation Union', might have answers, but they won't share the knowledge with us.
"However, through years of research by the Alliance and through discussions, studies, and experiments with other alien civilizations, a consensus was finally reached: the universe emerged from a primordial chaos. This primordial chaos first produced fundamental particles, which then formed elementary particles. These elementary particles developed various elemental properties and expanded outward, forming countless different universes.
"The hypothesis that this universe was born from a fusion of various elements has been tested by the Interstellar Alliance. With advanced technology, we've managed to pierce our local universe and discovered the existence of other universes. Some universes formed naturally, while others originated from fundamental particles gathering to an extreme density, compressing to the highest possible temperature, then igniting or exploding. Once cooled, these gave rise to new universes.
After numerous studies, the Alliance has preliminarily determined that our local universe was also formed when various elements fused and compressed to an extreme point, then exploded from this singularity of ultimate density, expanding and cooling into the local universe space we inhabit now.
Our local universe is still in its growing and expanding phase. Based on estimates of the universe's life stages, it's essentially an adolescent, with its ultimate destruction still a long, long way off."
"Different local universes... that's unbelievable! Even just our local universe is unimaginably vast. How many of these universes are there altogether? If we added them all up, it would be an unimaginable size!" I was stunned by Buweiro's explanation. I had always thought there was only one universe, never imagining there were countless others!
"The Alliance's technology is far more advanced than I could have imagined. I didn't expect it could even penetrate our local universe to explore other universal spaces. Based on what I've studied, humanity's current technology can only observe as far as a universe diameter of 93 billion light years. Beyond that, we're unable to detect anything. Could I ask how the Alliance managed to go even further?"
"Of course," Buweiro readily agreed, explaining, "The Alliance achieved this using 'radio-electromagnetic gravitational wave' technology from the Universal Energy Field, and the principle is actually quite simple, as it combines radiology, electromagnetism, gravitational theory, and spatial frequency analysis into a unified technology that emits strong, far-reaching electromagnetic-gravitational waves through space along gravitational fields.
As long as it follows the fluctuations of space's gravitational field, the electromagnetic-gravitational wave can penetrate distances infinitely far. If humanity could master this aspect of the Universal Energy Field, many problems could be solved with ease by applying this principle."
"Oh, since I met you, I've heard you speak about the 'Universal Energy Field' as if it's an all-powerful tool—like a miracle of technology. Could you explain its principle to me?" Half understanding the gravitational wave technology, I was filled with curiosity about the Alliance's "Universal Energy Field".
As soon as I asked, I realized it might have been a bit abrupt. If Buweiro wasn't willing to explain, I'd understand.
But to my surprise, he nodded generously, explaining, "As I mentioned earlier, the Alliance's Universal Energy Field is primarily based on the magnetic forces of planetary cores and nuclear energy. The technological principle involves an integration and upgrading of magnetic fields, electromagnetism, gravitation, physics, mathematics, electric charge, relativity, and spatial theories.
"To put it simply, humans would need first to understand all principles of electromagnetism, then merge the forces of magnetic fields and gravitation. Gravity itself is divided into positive and negative gravitational fields, and merging the two requires deep knowledge of mathematics and physics.
Mathematics and physics act as data analysis tools for the universal field, while electric charge is the energy container for the Universal Energy Field. However, you would also need to advance your research on the principles of energy storage within electric charges. Finally, there's the need for a profound understanding of space and relativity—mastering spatial and light energy integration. Once all these are combined, it upgrades into the Universal Energy Field.
"'Universal' means omnipotent, able to achieve anything. In essence, controlling this energy enables anything to be done. This Universal Energy Field can be subdivided into countless types—such as medical healing, physical miracles, thought transformation, chemical mutations, data analysis—anything you can imagine. It first analyzes the need, then consolidates and produces the outcome. In simpler terms, the Universal Energy Field is an enhanced, upgraded version of the magnetic field's positive and negative interactions.”
"Sigh!"I let out a deep breath, feeling completely overwhelmed. I had crammed a lot of scientific knowledge last night, thinking I'd be prepared today. I could somewhat grasp the explanation of the universe's formation, but the technology behind the "Universal Energy Field" went completely over my head, leaving me with a deep sense of frustration. Still, I couldn't let myself give up—I'd try to remember as much as I could in the hopes that it might help scientists back on Earth.
